Dear Friends and Family,

“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” ~Ephesians 4:11-13.

For almost 18 years, Adventures in Missions, an interdenominational missions organization, has focused on discipling, reaching out into the world and exercising the Great Commission. Their vision:
To produce 10,000 disciples over the next five years. Their motto:
Follow God, Reach our world. So guess who gets to be a part of all this? That’s right, me! Through amazing connections, prayer, blessings, patience and continuous surrendering to God, I’ve been given an opportunity to take part in this wonderful organization by becoming an intern. Starting September 12th, I’ll be spending the next nine months living in Matamoros, Mexico. While there I will be living with 14 other people my age. We will be working and learning first hand not only what it takes to be a part of a missions team but also how they are developed, and how through God’s hand they facilitate huge change in the world today.

Matamoros is located on the southern bank of the Rio Grande, directly across from Brownsville, Texas. It is the largest city in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. While there, I will be benefiting from a three fold mission trip: Increasing the depth of my personal walk with God, working and living as a part of the body of Christ and impacting the community around me as I discover and utilize my gifts. In order for this to be happening, I’ll be taking part in a variety of different types of ministries during my visit. Some of these possibilities include: hospital visitation, street evangelism, women’s shelters, children’s home, after school programs, providing physical needs to partner ministries, dropping into local church planting efforts, youth group support, discipleship of local contacts and teacher’s aides in local schools. So no doubt: I’m totally excited about all this!

I still need to raise some more money in order to have enough for plane tickets, insurance, lodging, food, transportation, supplies, etc. Any kind of support is greatly needed whether it is through prayer, through a one time special gift or monthly pledges. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this trip,
THIS MISSION, will radically change my life and help me start down the path that God created for me. I know for some of you it’s hard to do that and you can still pray for me. All I ask is that you consider this: Have you ever had a desire, a dream for your life that you’ve had since a child? Did it ever come true for you? I’m 23 years old and I’m about to take a serious leap of faith by following this dream. I have faith that my God, My Heavenly Father will speak to you, touch each and every one of your hearts in some way so that you may see this dream, this desire, that was placed in my heart and support me through pray or finances. Just as Paul asked the people of Corinth in the beginning of 1 Corinthians 16, he asked them to help him forward, whichever way he may travel as he went about God’s work: I’m asking you to help me move forward in this journey that God has placed before me; my dream. Thank you dear friends and family and may God bless you from now to eternity.

Securely in His grip,

Jeanne Taylor
